Brunet is situated on a slope above the Valensole plain and offers an unobstructed view of the Asse River. The village lies at an altitude of 425 metres on the left bank of the Asse and was built on the northern slope of the Valensole Plateau.

Culture and History
The Église Saint-Martin in Brunet is a Romanesque church with a flat-ended chancel. It was formerly a priory chapel built by Montmajour before belonging to the Cathedral of Riez in 1204. Since 1713, the church has preserved relics of Saint Christine.
In the vicinity of Brunet lies the Château d'Allemagne-en-Provence, a castle. Roman remains were excavated in Brunet in the 1950s. An alleged ancient road is thought to have passed through Brunet. Historically, Brunet was known for a long time for its peach production.
