Beaujeu: Holiday apartments and houses

The village of Beaujeu lies at an altitude of 888 metres and consists of a group of hamlets and forests. Between Digne-les-Bains and Seyne lies the Pli de Beaujeu, an anticline in the shape of a bridge that illustrates the deformation of the Digne thrust sheet.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Pierre in Beaujeu and the Church of Beaujeu date from the 17th century. In 1840, the Church of Saint-Pierre was enlarged over an older chapel dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and renamed Saint-Pierre. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was restored, particularly with work on the wall frescoes.

From the hamlet of Saint-Pierre, you can discover Sariège, a ruined village.

Hiking

The hike to the hamlet of La Cériège is 5.6 kilometres long, has an elevation gain of 310 metres and takes 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The hike to Chastelas begins in the charming little hamlet of Saint-Pierre de Beaujeu and leads to the summit of Chastelas; along the way are works from the “L’Art en Montagne” collection of the Musée Gassendi.

From the hamlet of L’Escale, you can reach Mont Blayeul at an altitude of 2,170 metres. Mont Blayeul offers extensive views of the Alpine mountain range.

An abandoned municipal barn was restored and converted into a shelter for hikers.
