Culture and history
The Church of the Assumption of Mary is a valuable relic of the medieval village of Aubenas-les-Alpes. The area was already used during the Middle Palaeolithic; in the Neolithic period, there was intense human activity there because flint deposits were exposed at the surface in the Largue Valley.
The circular route to Château d'Aubenas leads uphill through the garrigue to the château and returns via an old path paved as a calade. The chapel of Aubenas-les-Alpes is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.
