Construction of the keep in Curçay-sur-Dive began at the end of the 14th century to defend the region against the English. On 28 October 1965, it was classified as a Monument historique.

The remains of the Saint-Pierre church are also among the town’s protected heritage sites; they were listed as a Monument historique on 4 February 1927. These include a 12th-century bell tower and two adjoining tuffeau stone columns. The nave and entrance gable are thought to have been rebuilt at the beginning of the 13th century; the rectangular apse dates from the 17th century.

The Pont gallo-romain dit Pont de la Reine-Blanche is a Gallo-Roman bridge in Curçay-sur-Dive. The La Dive watercourse passes through the structure or borders it. Since 15 July 1980, the bridge has been listed as a Monument historique and forms part of a protected area classified as an archaeological site.

Walking through Curçay-sur-Dive

The Sentier de la Reine Blanche is an 18.5 km circular hiking trail that starts and ends in Curçay-sur-Dive. Its route passes through lanes carved into tuffeau stone, linking the trail with a characteristic architectural feature of the town.

Winegrowing in the Village

Les Treilles de la Reine Blanche is located in the village of Curçay-sur-Dive, directly at the foot of the keep. The conservatory comprises 500 vines representing 50 different grape varieties used for winemaking. Visitors can learn about the history, origins and characteristics of each grape variety along an educational trail and from explanatory panels.
