Nature

The Isle Nature team offers educational workshops on nature, environmental responsibility and the garden’s biodiversity. The Maison de l'eau is a public and educational resource and learning centre dedicated to protecting biodiversity and water resources; events are offered there throughout the year. Its exhibition area of more than 80 m² also presents changing exhibitions on water-related topics throughout the year. The Boucle de la rainette arboricole is a discovery trail in Saint-Fraigne.

Culture and History

The interior decoration of the Église Saint-Fraigne was created by Louis Mazetier between 1944 and 1951 and completed by his pupil Laurent Escap. The Église Saint-Fraigne is temporarily closed due to construction work.

The Musée de l'école displays a reconstructed classroom representing a school class from the early 20th century, as well as old books and school items dating from the period of the French Third Republic through to the post-war era.

Getting Around

The D737 from Angoulême to Niort via Chef-Boutonne runs from south to north between Aigre and Longré, crossing the entire municipality of Saint-Fraigne and providing access to the town centre.

Food and Drink

Pierre Lecat Cognac offers guided tours of the distillery, including explanations of the Charentais still and the distillation process. This is followed by a tasting of three Cognacs or Pineau des Charentes of your choice.
