Montembœuf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The 13 km-long Sentier de Beaussac begins in Montembœuf at 1 Place de la Mairie. The route passes through numerous hamlets and traverses a landscape of valleys, forests, rivers and streams; there are two variants.

Hiking

The Sentier du Petit Mairat is 12 km long and also begins at 1 Place de la Mairie in Montembœuf. It is suitable for hiking, Nordic walking, running and VTC cycling. In Montembœuf, the hiking trail follows the former route of the local narrow-gauge railway and passes a water tower that was once used to fill the water tanks of the small steam train. The Église Saint-Sixte is also mentioned in connection with the Sentier du Petit Mairat.

Culture

The L’Imprévu Festival takes place every year on the second weekend of September. It brings together artists with disabilities and other artists without distinction in one programme and on the same stages. The festival also organises a collaborative visual arts work every year. This is assembled on the day before the festival and exhibited during the festival weekend.

There were two churches in Montembœuf: the new one was built; the old one, which obstructed traffic at the lower end of the square, was demolished.
