Médillac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature

The Vallée de la Tude Natura 2000 site, to which Médillac belongs, is an important corridor between the Charente and Garonne catchment areas and continues to be used by the European mink. The site lists the European otter (Lutra lutra) and the European mink (Mustela lutreola) as mammal species included in Annex II. The Vallée de la Tude includes priority wet Atlantic heaths and riparian forests as habitats of Community interest. The site also encompasses a network of waterways with more than 140 kilometres of flowing water, as well as habitats such as riparian forests, tall-herb communities and wet meadows.

Culture

The Église Saint-Laurent was classified as a historic monument by decree of 2 June 1970. Its church windows were remade using techniques and materials from the 12th century. The church is freely accessible; individual visits are possible independently at any time.

Routes

The Circuit des Étangs is a 36-kilometre route that passes through Rioux-Martin, Médillac, Saint-Avit and Chalais.

The Circuit VTT n°9 begins in Yviers and leads to Médillac. On the section before Médillac, it follows unpaved paths along the small Argentonne stream. After leaving Médillac, the Circuit VTT n°9 leads to the Tude and runs along the river.
