La Motte de Mazerolles is mentioned as early as 1273 in the feudal register of Guillaume de Blaye, Bishop of Angoulême. At La Motte Féodale, a footbridge, an observation tower, stairs and landscaping have been completed.

The church of Mazerolles also preserves several historical periods. The oldest, Romanesque section retains its 12th-century nave, which ends in a small apse. In the 15th century, the church was extended with a second Gothic nave. Inside, there is a stone altar depicting the Lamb of God; above it stands a painted wooden altarpiece from the 18th or early 19th century.
