Chassors: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
A distinctive oak tree was planted in the centre of Chassors. The Chassors oak is 23 metres tall; at a height of 1.50 metres, its circumference is 477 centimetres. Its age is estimated at 400 to 450 years. Traditionally, in connection with the French Revolution, it is referred to as a “liberty tree”.

Culture
The chapel of Luchac dates from the 19th century and is used regularly or occasionally. In 1107, the church of Saint-Romain was transferred by the Bishop of Saintes to Saint-Cybard Abbey in Angoulême, which founded a priory there. Its Romanesque capitals feature depictions of vine leaves and grapes. Remains of frescoes have been preserved on parts of the choir walls.

Le Circuit du Chêne is an oenotourism experience that begins with a visit to a cooperage workshop and continues to the vineyards of Chassors. As part of this experience, a cooper demonstrates the individual steps involved in making barrels live. Visitors learn about the production of Cognac, Pineau and wine, as well as the skills of coopers, wood splitters who make barrel staves, and distillers. This includes explanations of distillation in the Charentais still, the production of Pineau and the ageing of Cognac, followed by a tasting of Pineau, Cognac or wine.
The terroir of Chassors is described as comparable to the area around Segonzac classified as Grande Champagne. The wines of Chassors enjoy a good reputation. A Cognac workshop at Frères Moine includes a 30-minute comparative tasting of Cognac eaux-de-vie from Fin Bois and Grande Champagne.
The Preswar Expo above the Frères Moine distillery is currently hosting an exhibition of screen prints, paintings, collages, metal sculptures and photographs.
