Culture

The village church of Vervant is dedicated to Saint Catherine. The present-day village church was built in 1882 and replaced the earlier church, which had been destroyed during the Wars of Religion.

The Église Sainte-Catherine de Vervant has a rectangular floor plan with a single nave. A cylindrical tower, dating back to 1573, has also been preserved in the area of the Château de Vervant's outbuildings.

Landscape

Vervant lies on the left bank of the Boutonne and is characterised by a wooded landscape. The Château de Vervant is located north of the town centre in the Boutonne area.

The French garden of the Château de Vervant was restored with planted beds, paths and a central fountain. The estate's moats are still visible in several places.

Leisure

Vervant lies on the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela. The local facilities also include the Aire de jeux de Vervant, with a zip line, a carousel, a trampoline, a swing, a slide and spring-mounted play equipment.
