Paillé is home to the Église Saint-Georges, a church dating from the 12th century and dedicated to Saint George. As a Romanesque church, it features buttresses on its southern side consisting of groups of three interconnected columns; this characteristic is rare in the Saintonge region. The interior was remodelled in the 14th and 15th centuries. Some sections that had survived the destruction of the Hundred Years' War were preserved.

Landscape
The Saudrenne runs through Paillé and is a tributary of the Boutonne. The Padôme also runs through Paillé; it is one of the small tributaries on the left bank of the Boutonne.

The Rue des Lanvandières in Paillé forms part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
Events
The Festival Country de Paillé is a recurring event; its tenth edition was scheduled for the period from 31 July to 2 August 2026. The festival included outdoor country concerts, dance performances and dance workshops, a Western village, American vehicles, motorcycle rides, as well as shows and other Western-inspired entertainment.
The programme of the 2026 Festival Country de Paillé included food trucks and food areas.
Raid Jeunes in the Paillé area uses teams of six people, including five young people and one supervisor or youth worker, for sports activities close to nature such as cycling, hiking and canoeing.
For 2026, the Raid Natural Trophée in Paillé was announced as its 24th edition. It comprised the three routes Aventurier, Découverte and Initiation.
