The Notre-Dame church in Nuaillé-sur-Boutonne was probably built around the middle of the 12th century. Its single-nave church has five bays and a semicircular apse. The west portal has archivolt voussoirs sculpted with figures and an archivolt band featuring a row of angels. Remains of medieval wall paintings have been preserved in several places. On 6 December 1984, the church was classified as a historical monument.
The Notre-Dame-d'Oulmes priory is first mentioned in 1326. Three parts of the priory have been preserved: the ruined church, flanked by a chapel; a long rectangular building wing to the north; and another building wing arranged perpendicular to it in the west, separated from it by a portal. The ruins of the church, including the south chapel, as well as the façades and roofs of the convent buildings of the Notre-Dame-d'Oulmes priory were protected as historical monuments by decree of 14 November 1980.
