The dovecote of the Domaine de Luchat was classified as a historical monument (Monument historique) by a decree of 2 September 1994.
Culture and History
The dovecote is built of dressed stone blocks and has a dome with concentric layers of stone, three dormer windows and a small lantern roof. Its 400 nesting niches are spherical terracotta forms. The Domaine de Luchat is arranged around a rectangular dwelling house; to the south, a large courtyard lined with outbuildings extends in front of it. The 16th-century dovecote of the Domaine de Luchat stands alone in a field.
