Culture

The Église de la Transfiguration is a church dating from the 12th and 19th centuries. Its nave has two aisles separated by square pillars with large semicircular arches.

The inscription “SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS” appears on the wall of the gate of the château’s barn, which is still preserved today. A copy of the Sator Square was also discovered in Jarnac-Champagne, embedded in a stone set into the wall of an outbuilding of a château that has now largely disappeared.

At the Église Saint-Sauveur, the transept and apse were classified as historic monuments by a decree dated 6 January 1912; the remainder of the church was placed under heritage protection by a decree dated 3 November 1927.
