Foulerot and Plaisance are located on the edge of the 600-hectare Forêt des Saumonards forest massif. In the area around Foulerot, footpaths through the Forêt Briquet allow visitors to explore the forest and lead to the sea. In the area around Foulerot, the Forêt Briquet covers a protected area of 92.3 hectares and is open to the public. The Marais du Douhet, a coastal wetland covering more than 400 hectares, is also located nearby.

The Chemin d’Oléron between Boyardville and Saint-Denis-d’Oléron leads through the heart of the Forêt des Saumonards. Between Saint-Georges-d’Oléron and Foulerot, there is also a route known as “Saint-Georges-d’Oléron-Foulerot” for activities on wheels. In the municipality of Saint-Georges-d’Oléron, the Chenal du Douhet offers a cycle path from which the birds of the marshes can be observed.
