Fontcouverte is home to the Église Saint-Vivien, built in the 12th century and an example of Saintonge Romanesque architecture. The church also contains a fragment of a 14th-century wall painting depicting the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian.

The Font-Morillon spring in the present-day municipality of Fontcouverte supplied the oldest Gallo-Roman aqueduct, built around AD 20. Several restored pillars of the Pont des Arcs aqueduct bridge have been incorporated into the Golf Rouyer-Guillet golf course in Fontcouverte.
On the first nine holes of the Golf de Saintes Louis-Rouyer-Guillet, visitors can discover the remains of the Gallo-Roman aqueduct that supplied ancient Mediolanum Santonum. In Fontcouverte, 14 markers also point pilgrims in the direction of Saint James.
Nature
The Escambouille crosses Fontcouverte for 4,500 metres from east to west. A hiking trail follows the river through an especially biodiverse environment in Fontcouverte.
The Vallon de Montignac is a 1.6-hectare natural open space used for walking and sporting activities. In the Natura 2000 site “Moyenne vallée de la Charente, Seugnes et Coran”, the Escambouille is listed as one of its named tributaries.
