Tours

The Sentier Détours n°1 – Arvert is a 4.8-kilometre circular trail that takes around one hour to complete. It starts at the Salle des fêtes on Rue des Tilleuls and is suitable for beginners.

Nature

The Marais de Coux can be explored on a guided tour with information panels across flat, grassy terrain. The tour explains how the circulation of seawater is controlled and also introduces the local flora and fauna.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Étienne d’Arvert was rebuilt in 1683 after being almost completely destroyed during the Wars of Religion around 1568. Today’s Temple protestant d’Arvert was built in 1834 in the garden of the town hall school. Its side door is located in an unusual position for a temple and is reminiscent of the houses of prayer. The Moulin des Justices was restored in 2014.

Wine and Distillation

The Domaine des Claires offers tours presenting the wine estate, its cellars and its distillery. Tastings include white, rosé and red wines, as well as Pineau and Cognac.
