Champdolent: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Church of Saint-Pierre in Champdolent was begun in the 11th century; its nave and bell tower were built in the 15th century. It has been classified as a historic monument since 1925. Its bell weighs 106 kilograms, was cast in 1655, restored in 2018, and is also classified.

The second château of Champdolent, the Logis de Bellébat, was destroyed by fire around 1838; only the outbuildings remain. The Marquis Abraham Duquesne-Guiton, lieutenant general of the navy and governor of Martinique, retired to Champdolent in 1720, died there in 1724, and was buried in the church of Champdolent.
