Nature

Villembray is situated in a pastoral landscape, slightly below the northwestern ridge, at an elevation of 182 metres. The Avelon flows through the valley in which Villembray is located. The stream rises between Villembray and Senantes, near the hamlet of Les Eclondes.

The La Crapaudière road cycling route passes through Villembray. It is 19 kilometres long and designed as a two-hour road cycling route. The route is signposted with green bicycle signs.

Culture

The Church of Notre-Dame de Villembray houses a statue of the Virgin Mary in a magnificent Baroque altarpiece. When it was classified in 1912, the statue was attributed to the 14th century.

The Église Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs in Villembray is associated with a pilgrimage tradition. According to legend, miraculous events in 1566 prevented Protestants from destroying the statue of the Virgin Mary at the church portal. The following day, the cherry trees surrounding the church blossomed.
