Culture

The Church of Notre-Dame de Villembray houses a statue of the Virgin Mary in a magnificent Baroque altarpiece. When it was classified in 1912, the statue was attributed to the 14th century.

The Église Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs in Villembray is associated with a pilgrimage tradition. According to legend, miraculous events in 1566 prevented Protestants from destroying the statue of the Virgin Mary at the church portal. The following day, the cherry trees surrounding the church blossomed.
