Remy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Forêt de Remy is protected as a ZNIEFF (Zone naturelle d'intérêt écologique, faunistique et floristique; natural area of ecological, faunal and floral interest).

It is home to the remarkable Fuchs's orchid (Orchis de Fuchs); in spring, yellow daffodils, white anemones and blue hyacinths add colour to the undergrowth.

Several rare plant species grow in the Bois de Pieumelle, including pendulous sedge and pill sedge.

The wetlands and forest ponds in the forests of Remy are important breeding grounds for several rare and endangered amphibian species.

Renting a holiday apartment in Remy is a specific accommodation requirement.

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Denis in Remy is classified as a historic monument; it was protected by decree of 5 February 1920.

During an extensive building campaign begun in 1564, the choir of the Église Saint-Denis was rebuilt and the transept was doubled in size.

In the 13th century, the vassals of the Counts of Clermont built a fortified castle in Remy.

The misericords of the choir stalls in the church of Remy are decorated with various carved motifs, including sea creatures, baskets and skulls.

The remains of 1,828 French combatants are buried in the Nécropole nationale de Rémy; the remains of 52 civilians are also buried there.

Six French combatants who were killed in the fighting in June 1940 are buried there.

The Nécropole nationale de Rémy brings together the remains of soldiers who died during various operations of the First World War in the Oise département, particularly in 1918. It was established in 1921 to bring together soldiers previously buried in individual graves or temporary cemeteries in the Oise département.
