In Paillart, the Jardin du Moulin Ventin extends across two hectares. La Noye, a small river in the Somme department, flows through its grounds. The garden contains more than 700 trees and shrubs as well as 350 modern and historic roses; it is open all year round by appointment.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Denis was rebuilt in the first third of the 16th century. Its choir preserves three stained-glass windows from the 16th century. The Chapelle Saint-Lugle-et-Saint-Luglien was rebuilt in 1823 and again in 1886.

Paths

Paillart preserves numerous town-circuit paths that provide direct access to fields or pastures. Behind the northern sections of Rue Becquerelle and Rue Daniel, the surviving town-circuit paths can still be walked. The southern town-circuit path connects Rue Lambin with Rue de la Mairie. The hiking route “Les Voies Romaines à Paillart” follows the Roman roads Chaussée Brunehaut and Via Agrippa.

The historic site Abbaye Notre-Dame de Breteuil is located in the immediate vicinity of Paillart. In the wider regional area around Paillart are the historic site Abbaye du Paraclet des Champs, the Artothèque d'Amiens museum, the Musée de Picardie museum, and the garden landscape Les Hortillonnages d'Amiens.
