History
The ruins of Creil’s medieval castle were classified as historical monuments on 17 December 1923. A small pavilion was built around 1780 at the top of Île de Creil; it is known as the “Temple de l'amour”. The oldest surviving parts of the Church of Saint-Médard date from around 1200. It also houses a tombstone of Jean De La Haye that is classified as a historical monument.

Culture
The Musée Gallé-Juillet has been awarded the Musée de France designation and houses a collection of around 15,000 works and objects. The museum also offers the tablet-based outdoor game Explor Games® “Folle histoire au château de Creil”.
The Maison de la Faïence presents the history of Creil’s faience factory from 1797 to 1895. On display are hundreds of stoneware, faience and soft-paste porcelain objects from Creil; the Maison de la Faïence also explores the materials and manufacturing techniques used in faience production. The Espace Matisse hosts exhibitions with free admission throughout the year. La Grange à Musique is a concert venue designated as a Scène de Musiques Actuelles.
Markets and Events
On the first Thursday of each month, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., an environmentally and socially focused market is held on the forecourt of the Faïencerie, offering locally produced, organically farmed and fair-trade products. The Foire aux marrons has been held in Creil’s city centre for more than 800 years.
Nature and Paths
Parc de l’île Saint-Maurice has walking paths that are accessible with pushchairs. Signs there provide information about the local animal and plant life in a playful way. Parc de la Faïencerie is bordered on one side by the banks of the Oise and on the other by a limestone slope with caves carved into the rock. The “Côte à Cri-cri” is a walking and cycling path that leads from Parc de la Faïencerie to the higher areas of Creil.
Water
The rowing club l'Étoile Nautique de l'Oise offers rowing lessons on a quiet branch of the Oise in Creil. Together with the Creil Sud Oise Tourist Office, the club regularly organises three-hour introductory rowing sessions.
