Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Michel in Canny-sur-Matz was built in 1926 in the Neo-Romanesque style. It features stained-glass windows from different periods: by Avenel from the 1930s, as well as by Flachat from 1960 and Pasquier from 1961.

The Ferme de Canny is located on the ruins of a former fortified castle. Canny-sur-Matz was once again the scene of fighting during the Spring Offensive of 1918.

Joli Grain offers online ordering of farm pasta and organic flour, with collection at the Ferme de Canny in Canny-sur-Matz. At Aux Grés Des Vents, it is possible to visit the shop or tour the workshop by prior appointment. Stoneware utility ceramics are produced there and fired in a wood-fired kiln modelled on Japanese “Noborigama” kilns.
