Culture and history
The Church of Saint-Pierre et Saint-Hubert in Brétigny was listed as a historic monument in 1920. The section belonging to the priory comprises a straight-ended choir with two bays. The rear wall of the choir features three lancet windows and a large twelve-petalled rose window; it was apparently inspired by the choir of Laon Cathedral.
The choir of the former Cluniac priory of Saint-Hubert in Brétigny was extensively restored between 1919 and 1937. Relics of Saint Hubert kept in the Church of Saint-Pierre et Saint-Hubert, as well as the nearby stone of the same name, continue to be the subject of a pilgrimage. The Menhir de Saint Hubert, which is one of the megalithic remains of the Pays Noyonnais, is also located in Brétigny.
The Abbaye antique de Brétigny is a monastery in the immediate vicinity of Brétigny. The Abbaye de Saint-Paul-aux-Bois, a historic site, and the Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Ourscamp, also a historic site, are likewise located in the area around Brétigny.
