Baron: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In the middle of the fields stands the Manoir de Beaulieu-le-Vieux, an isolated farm complex that is visible from a distance. Its oldest parts date back to the 16th century; the building was remodelled in the 18th century.
When staying in Baron, the desire to rent a holiday apartment may be the main consideration.
Culture and History
The parish church of Baron was classified as a historic monument in 1859. The Église Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul is a homogeneous 16th-century building in the Flamboyant Gothic style. It contains 18th-century wood panelling from Chaalis Abbey.
The cemetery in Baron contains the graves of British soldiers who were killed in the Battle of Néry in 1914. Commemorative ceremonies attended by representatives of the British Army are also held there.
Location and Landscape
Baron lies on the Départementale 330a between Nanteuil-le-Haudouin and Senlis. The village is situated on the right bank of the Nonette and built on the slopes of a ravine. Accordingly, its streets have a noticeable gradient.
