History

The former Cistercian abbey of Beaupré was founded in 1134. Today, only the refectory and the adjoining buildings remain. It has been partially listed as a historic monument since 24 May 1988. The protected complex of the former Beaupré Abbey includes the monumental entrance, the former regular buildings from the 18th century, the remains of the abbey mill, the communal buildings – excluding the 19th-century elements – and the plots of the abbey grounds.
