Culture and history

In the 8th century, the Petit Fossé des Sarrazins formed a fortified camp between the Vertonne and the Auzance.

The choir windows of the church of Sainte-Foy depict episodes from the life of the young martyr Sainte-Foy.

The western part of the church of Sainte-Foy strongly resembles architectural models from the period of the first church, possibly dating from the 11th century.

The Pôle Equestre Vendéen has facilities for equestrian competitions and training. The Parc de la Jeannière has a playground for children aged 2 to 14; the Parc de la Jeannière also includes a fitness trail. Fishing is possible at the pond in the Parc de loisirs de la Jeannière.
