The church of Saint-Vincent-Sterlanges is a neoclassical building and was rebuilt in 1845. It houses the painting “Le Baptême du Christ”, painted by Gabriel de Fontaine in 1857. On 18 June 2025, the painting returned to the church of Saint-Vincent-Sterlanges.

The organ of Saint-Vincent-Sterlanges has seven stops and 450 pipes and was completely restored in 2014. According to Jean-Michel Dieuaide, president of “Orgues en Vendée”, it is one of the oldest organs in the Vendée.

The Trésor exhibition in the church comprises twelve objects from the 14th century to the beginning of the 19th century that are either listed as historic monuments or recorded in the supplementary inventory. It can be visited daily during the church’s opening hours, outside of services.

The reliquary of Saint Vincent the Deacon, Saint Cecilia and Saint Lawrence has been classified as a protected object since 5 December 1908. The chalice and paten were made between 1837 and 1838 by the Parisian goldsmith Hippolyte-Bertrand Paraud. The lime kiln at L’Aubraie is the only hexagonal lime kiln in the canton.

Landscape and Trails

Saint-Vincent-Sterlanges features a bocage landscape crossed by the Petit Lay. The Fontaine de Sterlanges was built in 1856.

The Sentier de Sterlanges is an easy, 6.6-kilometre hiking trail with a walking time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. It starts at the car park on Rue Malvoisine in Saint-Vincent-Sterlanges and is signposted with pink marker no. 1. The trail passes the washhouse and the Fontaine de Sterlanges.
