Freshwater fishing is possible on the Vie and the Ligneron. After the small bridge over the Ligneron, there is a children's playground and picnic tables.
Culture and History
The Menhir dit La Pierre-au-Trésor-de-la-Triée is a Neolithic menhir in Notre-Dame-de-Riez and has been classified as a historic monument since 12 May 1924. The Menhir du Pré Doux in Notre-Dame-de-Riez is likewise classified as a historic monument; it was placed under protection on 12 May 1924.
The Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church in Notre-Dame-de-Riez was built between 1888 and 1889 and has fourteen Stations of the Cross, which are admired by tourists. The church, also dedicated to Saint Ambrose, was donated in 1100 by a lord of Rié to the Benedictine Abbey of St Cyprien de Poitiers. After a victory, Louis XIII sent the church a gilded silver monstrance with enamel work as a votive offering.
Summer Festival
The Sardinade is a summer festival in Notre-Dame-de-Riez featuring a show and fireworks, and ending with a folk dance.
