Culture and History

The Sentier de l’Ansonnière is an easy, 18-kilometre hiking trail with a stated duration of approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes. Starting in Les Essarts, it passes, among other places, the Vieux Château, the Logis de Grezay and the Moulin de l’Ansonnière, thus providing access to several architectural heritage sites.

Parks and Trails

At the heart of Les Essarts lies Parc Saint Michel with its manor house; it covers 6 hectares. Parc Saint Michel includes a small retention basin and a wet valley. Parc Saint Michel is suitable for family walks.

The Sentier de l’Ansonnière starts at the de la Capéterie car park next to the cemetery near the town centre and is marked in yellow. Another circular trail is the Circuit de la Ferrière aux Essarts: it passes through cultivated landscapes to Les Essarts and reaches the town via Parc Saint-Michel.

Markets and Local Produce

The Marché des Saveurs in Les Essarts takes place on Fridays in odd-numbered weeks from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Place du 11 novembre 1918 next to the church. The Foire aux Essarts is held on the third Wednesday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Place du 8 mai and in Rue Georges Clemenceau.

The organic producer André Geneviève sells directly from the farm at La Hardière in Les Essarts and is represented at the Marché des Saveurs.
