La Guérinière: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

The Musée des traditions de l'île illustrates everyday life in Noirmoutier in past centuries through sections on the navy and salt production, reconstructed interiors of old houses, and an extensive collection of traditional island costumes. Since 17 September 2003, the Musée des traditions has held the French designation “Musée de France”.

The four “Moulins de la Cour” in La Guérinière stand on the grey dune; further along the path to the beach is the white dune. The “Moulins de la plage de la Court” are part of the coastal and cultural heritage of the beaches of Barbâtre and La Guérinière. The “Blockhaus de la Cantine” is also part of this coastal and cultural heritage.

Nature

The Pé de l'Herse in La Guérinière reaches a height of around 23 m and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Bois des Eloux is ideal for walking, picnics and jogging.

Culinary delights

The Port ostréicole du Bonhomme is located in La Guérinière on the side of the Baie de Bourgneuf. There are oyster huts there, some of which serve as places to buy and taste oysters.

At the Marais salant La Nouvelle Brille, coarse salt, fleur de sel, samphire and salt-based products are sold directly. Free tours are also offered, explaining every step from preparing the basins to the traditional production of coarse salt and fleur de sel.

Getting around

No 2 Roo rents out electric and conventional bicycles for adults, longtail cargo bikes, children's bicycles, as well as pet trailers, baby seats, carts, helmets and baskets.

On the “Nom d'un petit Bonhomme” cycling tour, the Port du Bonhomme serves as a stopping point on the cycle path in La Guérinière.
