La Chapelle-Thémer can be explored through several historical landmarks. The cemetery is home to the Hosanna Cross, which has been protected as a historic monument since 2006. It was erected in the 19th century using medieval sculptures from the 14th century and fragments of 15th-century tombs. At the same time, it is one of the few surviving Hosanna crosses in the Vendée and recalls the old religious traditions of Palm Sunday processions.
Culture and History
The Château du Fougeroux dates back to a 16th-century seigneurial manor house built around 1577. After being damaged by fire during the French Revolution, it was rebuilt between 1802 and 1811. By decree of 3 February 1999, the façades and roofs of the residential building, the side wing and the tower, the decorated grand salon, and the Neo-Renaissance pump house were listed as historic monuments.
The Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption was built in the 13th century as the castle chapel of the Château de Bodet. Its architectural features include a western portal, a massive square bell tower from the 17th century, buttresses and an octagonal stair tower. The cemetery also contains five burial sites referred to as the tombs of the lords of Bodet; they date from the 12th and 13th centuries.

Nature and Trails
The Le Porche hiking trail passes through a landscape of open plain and bocage in the surroundings of La Chapelle-Thémer. Some sections of the hiking trail may be difficult to access in winter.
