Nature and Trails
The GR® 364 “From Poitou to the Ocean” passes through La Chapelle-Hermier and runs along the right bank of Lac du Jaunay. Around six hiking trails, including one around Lac du Jaunay, lead to walks by the water, through the bocage landscape and along paths above the lake.
The Sentier entre Rives et Hauteurs crosses the dam and then follows the shores of the lake. The trail also leads to the Passerelle Observatoire. Local wildlife can be observed there; information panels introduce the local fauna and flora and mention, among others, grey herons, cormorants, great crested grebes and kingfishers.
The Passerelle Observatoire du Lac du Jaunay is located at the hamlet of Le Moulin des Rochelles in La Chapelle-Hermier, where the Jaunay River forms the reservoir.
Water and Activities
Les Canoës du Jaunay operates a base at Base du Pré in La Chapelle-Hermier, offering canoeing and pedal boating for 30 minutes, one hour or two hours. The Les Canoës du Jaunay base also provides access to eight mountain bike trails, several hiking trails and geocaching.

Culture and History
The Moulin du Chiron is the only surviving mill of the ten that once existed in La Chapelle-Hermier. It is a stone tower forming the body of a former windmill that produced flour.
The Église Saint Pierre et Saint Paul has an oldest section dating from the 12th century with a slate roof, as well as a Gothic section covered with red tiles.
A pilgrimage takes place at the Chapelle de Garreau on the first Sunday in September.
