Culture

Apremont has been awarded the Petite Cité de Caractère® designation.

The Croix Hosannière is a four-metre-high monument dating from the 14th century. It depicts an altar server with a lectern for the Gospel, a Pietà and a Maltese cross. The older building fabric also includes the megalithic Petit pont gallo-romain: its stone slab is 3.60 metres long and rests on two masonry bases.

The Château d’Apremont was built as early as the 11th century and reconstructed several times over the centuries. Guided tours of the château are available. Several houses in Apremont were built using structural elements from the Château d’Apremont, which fell into ruin in the 18th century.

The Manoir de la Tuderrière dates from the late 16th century and was built on the site of an 11th-century feudal castle. The manor house has heritage listings from 1984 and 2016. These concern the façades and roofs of the main residential building; the 1984 listing specifically mentions the courtyard-facing façade and the roof of the main residential building.

The Church of Saint Martin was built in 1902 and contains a stained-glass window from the 16th century. Reused architectural elements are visible on the façades in Val Fleury.

Nature

The banks of the Vie in Apremont are characterised by lush greenery and walking paths. Fishing is permitted on Lac d’Apremont from a boat, belly boat or the shore.

Water and Trails

The landscaped beach at Lac d’Apremont has pedal boats, boats, a wake park, an inflatable play area, children’s games, picnic tables and a restaurant. KS Wake Park offers supervised wakeboarding training at a speed adapted to the participants. Participation is possible from the age of seven and requires swimming ability.

Les Trois Châteaux is a hiking trail in Apremont that is around 10.5 kilometres long, with a walking time of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The Parking du Château car park is available for this hiking trail.
