The Ancienne grange dîmière de la Merrie was built in the 13th century and renovated in the 15th century. By decree dated 18 October 1993, it was classified as a Monument historique.

Culture

At the Château du Paty, the façades, roofs, entrance portal and bridge over the moats are protected as historic monuments. The garden of the Château du Paty is designed as an English garden and includes several magnificent trees as well as a water-filled moat.

The Église Saint Martin de Tours dates from the 12th and 13th centuries; the apse of the chancel is Romanesque. The church houses an oil painting from 1654 depicting the Adoration of the Magi. The keys to the Église Saint Martin are available at Chenu Town Hall.

Walks and landscape

The Circuit du Viaduc in Chenu is an easy 4.6 km walking route with a stated duration of one hour. It leads along woodland paths and past remarkable old trees, including oaks, a skeletal chestnut tree and old pollarded willows with hollow trunks.

The moats of the Jardin du château du Paty were created in the middle of the 11th century on a feudal earth mound. They are mainly supplied by a system that diverts the municipal stream Chef de Ville, located 2 km east of the main buildings. Additional water comes from springs and the aquifers of the hill north of Paty.

Fruit growing

At the Ferme Les Quantières, visitors are introduced to how a fruit-growing farm operates. The farm has an environmentally friendly organic orchard with traditional, mainly old, as well as new varieties, including Bertanne, Saint-Germaine, Dalinette and Delisdor.
