Berfay is located in the Boutry Valley. The long-distance hiking trail GR235 from Vibraye to Saint-Calais passes through the village. Those who choose Berfay as a destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Culture
Among the attractions in Berfay is the Church of Saint-Pierre, which features construction phases from the 11th or 12th, 16th, and 19th centuries. Another attraction is a washhouse fed by a spring.
For the 1906 Grand Prix, Berfay has the “Espace Grégoire” totem and commemorative plaque. Berfay is located at kilometre 51 on the cultural trail commemorating the first Grand Prix of the Automobile Club de France in 1906.

History
The Boutry stream, the nearby Vibraye Forest, and the iron-rich subsoil favoured the Gallo-Roman settlement of Berfay. Apart from agriculture, village activities in Berfay were associated with forestry for a long time.
The historic site of Abbaye Saint-Laurent du Gué-de-Launay is located near Berfay. The former monastery Ancienne Abbaye de Saint-Calais (disappeared) is located in the vicinity of Berfay. In the wider regional surroundings of Berfay are the Château de la Flotte and the Château de Montfort-le-Rotrou.
