The first parts of Notre-Dame Church in Tourville-la-Chapelle date back to the early 13th century. Historically, it is documented under names such as “Notre-Dame de la Capelle de Tourville” in 1410 and “Notre-Dame de Tourville” in 1683. The church originally consisted of a choir and three naves. Unusually, its bell tower was built at the foot of the large central nave. Numerous restoration works were carried out in the 18th and 19th centuries. The church also features numerous stained-glass windows and glazing, whose main theme is the life of Joan of Arc.

Nature and Trails

The Boucle de Grand Bois is a 10 km circular route through forests, plains and villages in the Petit-Caux area. It can be explored on foot or by mountain bike; the stated reference times are 2 hours 30 minutes for walking and 1 hour 45 minutes for mountain biking.

The Grand Bois section of the Boucle de Grand Bois follows the “des Faitiers” forest path through the Massif du Grand-Bois. Pheasants and, depending on the season, carpets of wildflowers such as hyacinths and anemones may be seen there. The Grand Bois hike starts at the Place de l’Église in Tourville-la-Chapelle.
