La Ferté-Saint-Samson: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
A castle already stood on the hilltop of La Ferté-Saint-Samson in 981. The history of the church located there also dates back a long way: it was founded by Gautier in the 10th century, around 990.
Culture and history
The Church of Saint-Samson has a 13th-century portal and nave, as well as a 16th-century choir. The rest of the church building on the hilltop dates from the 16th century, while the nave dates from 1846. The high altar and baptismal font are made of wood and date from the 18th century.
The Church of Saint-Samson contains colourful frescoes in shades of ochre and red. Entry to the church is currently prohibited; it can only be viewed from the outside.
On the town hall square stands the so-called Maison dite de Henri IV, also known as Maison de bois dite de Henri IV. Its roof shape, chimney, dormer window, half-timbering, carved frieze and gable with chestnut-wood shingles are particularly striking. The building is partially protected as a Monument historique; protection for the façades and roofs was registered on 24 July 1968. The Maison dite de Henri IV is not open to visitors and can only be viewed from the outside.

Landscape
The Panorama de la Ferté can be reached by parking at the church car park, walking along the right side of the church, going down the small path to the turnstile on the left, passing through the turnstile and climbing up to the hilltop.
The Panorama de la Ferté offers a 300° view over the Boutonnière des Pays de Bray. The hilltop also features an orientation table made of ceramic, copper and lead by Juliette and Jacques DAMVILLE in 2001–2002.
