Culture and history
Grand-Camp is home to two churches featuring distinctive construction phases and different architectural details. The nave and bell tower of Saint-Michel Church were built in the first quarter of the 17th century; its choir was built in 1635 for the local parish priest, Jean Desnois.
The building history of Saint-Sylvestre also dates back a long way: the choir dates from the end of the 13th century. The nave was rebuilt in 1723 for Louis François Nupied de Francheville, as indicated by the seigneurial inscription.
At Saint-Michel, the materials and construction of the entrance-tower porch are particularly striking. Its base is made of dressed limestone, while the walls are made of blonde flint with limestone courses. The tower contains a rib vault supported by carved corbels. Saint-Sylvestre is made of plastered blonde flint with limestone courses; the buttresses are made of brick, the gable of the nave is timber-framed, and the bell tower has a timber structure clad in slate.
Grand-Camp is also home to the Harmonie de Grand-Camp. Near Grand-Camp are Abbaye du Valasse, a historic site, Chateau de Louvetot, a château, and Prieuré Saint-Hyacinthe d'Yvetot, a historic site.
