Ganzeville: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Culture
The Vallée de Ganzeville contains a registered protected area known for its forests and biodiversity. The valley has retained its natural character; its landscape and habitat led to its designation in 1986.
The Church of Saint-Rémy was built in the 11th century and rebuilt after being plundered in the 16th century. Its gate bell tower has an octagonal stair tower and a stone spire dating from the 17th century. The cemetery around the church contains a 16th-century cemetery cross in the Flamboyant Gothic style.
The present-day Manoir de Ganzeville was built by Charles de Cauquigny during the reign of Henri IV. It preserves one of the five towers of the former fortified enclosure, as well as traces of moats connected to the river by a lock system. The Manoir de Ganzeville is privately owned and not open to the public.
The Maison des Templiers, a former Templar commandery, is also known as the “grande ferme.” It is surrounded by the remains of a small watchtower, the gable wall of a tithe barn, and a fortified enclosure with loopholes and narrow firing openings. The Maison des Templiers is privately owned and not open to the public.
The Canal de la Voûte is still visible today. It was built by monks from the abbey to bring running water into the monastery.
