Culture and history
Le Lin en Fête took place for the 29th time in 2026. At the festival, the dish “Cochon grillé farçi au Lin” was scheduled for Saturday, 13 June 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
The present-day Notre-Dame de l’Assomption church was begun in 1540 and completed in 1620. It also preserves three visible remains of the 13th-century church.
The Château de Galleville was built at the end of the 17th century and is listed as a historic monument. The château includes a 16-hectare walled park with notable beech groves, gardens and a flowering kitchen garden classified as a Jardin Remarquable.
Doudeville’s former Halle aux toiles has now been converted into the town hall. It used to be a meeting place for flax growers, brokers and industry professionals.
Flax and culture
The Carrefour du Lin offers exhibitions, events and workshops focusing on flax. It also shows two documentaries about flax cultivation, textiles and the industry.
Routes through Doudeville
The “La Voie romaine” route begins in Doudeville and leads to Doudeville’s hamlets as well as along an ancient Roman road.
Landscape and cycling
The “Au Pays du Lin” route is a moderately difficult road cycling route lasting around four hours. It follows country roads through flax fields shimmering bluish in June, typical clos-masures, villages full of character and a preserved rural cultural landscape.
