Bouelles: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Bouelles combines historic buildings with cycling and hiking routes through the Pays de Bray countryside.

Culture

The present structure of the Église Saint-Martin de Bouelles dates from the 16th and 17th centuries and stands on an older Romanesque structure. The nave features a painted wooden-beam vault; the decorative programme is dated and signed 1634. Since 1996, the Église Saint-Martin de Bouelles has been listed as a historic monument.

The highest dovecote in the Pays de Bray can be seen from the Église Saint-Martin in Bouelles. It was originally one of the towers of a castle complex demolished in the 15th century. The Le Coeur cycle route passes near the church in Bouelles; this dovecote can also be seen from there.

The grounds of the Château de Bouelles include a tennis court and a swimming pool. The historic village setting also includes the former presbytery dating from 1736 and the former château, which was converted into an agricultural building.

Nature

The La Montagne route leads into the heights of the Pays de Bray and offers views of the relief of the Pays-de-Bray-Boutonnière, with its cuestas and chalk slopes.

Routes

The La Montagne hiking route begins in Bouelles at point PN71 on the Avenue Verte. It is a 15-kilometre circular route with an approximate duration of 3 hours and 45 minutes.

The mountain bike circuit leads through the Pays Neufchâtelois to the Forêt d'Eu. On the return journey to the starting point, it follows the Avenue Verte London-Paris.
