Auppegard: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The Saint-Pierre church in Auppegard is distinguished by its twisted, screw-shaped bell tower; there are only four municipalities in the département with such a distinctive feature. The Calvary cross locally known as the “Croix des pestiférés” marks the site of an old cemetery established during the major plague epidemics in the Middle Ages.

The local heritage association Si le Pougard m'était Conté offers guided tours in Auppegard every year as part of Heritage Days. The Heritage Days programme includes volunteer-led tours of the Saint-Pierre church.

Things to do

La Pougaraise is a 10 km hiking route of moderate difficulty, with a stated duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes. The circular route begins behind the choir of the Saint-Pierre church; parking spaces are available at the starting point.

The La Pougaraise route passes the private Ferme des Tourelles, which is also described as a manor house and is dated to 1560. The Ferme des Tourelles comprises a manor house with asymmetrical openings; its surroundings are characteristic of the Cauchoiser Clos-Masures. The route passes through the Bois d'Ablemont, which offers pleasant, shady walks. Along the La Pougaraise route, the Château d'Auppegard can be identified by its tall chimneys.

La Pougaraise à VTT is a sport-oriented mountain biking route that passes through the region's historical heritage.
