Auffay: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Bosmelet was built around 1632 for Jean Beuzelin, a member of the Rouen Parliament. It is partly classified as a historic monument and partly registered as one.

Culture

The Collégiale Notre-Dame in Auffay is protected as a historic monument and dates from the 11th and 12th centuries. Its tower houses the 17th-century Jacquemarts Houzou, Bénard and Paquet Sivière. The Collégiale Notre-Dame is open to the public every day; an audio commentary in several languages is available there free of charge.

The Château de Bosmelet displays the Alain Germain collection of costume designs, sculptures, furnishings and stage sets. The château also includes a chapel and remains from the Second World War.

Trails

The “Auffay à pied” circular route is designated as a cultural and historical hike, is 3 km long, accessible to everyone, takes no more than 1 hour and does not run along unpaved paths.

Three signposted walking trails and one signposted cycling route start from the centre of Auffay.

Garden and Nature

Auffay’s public garden is open year-round, designated as an LPO wildlife refuge, and is now called Espace Thomas Pesquet. At the Château de Bosmelet, visitors can stroll through the walled garden and along the park avenues.

Market

Auffay’s market takes place every Friday morning in the town centre. The market offers a wide selection of fresh produce.

History

The Rouen–Dieppe railway line has served Auffay since 1847.
