Vimoutiers: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The oldest part of the Vieux Couvent dates from the late 16th century and comprises a half-timbered floor with a pavilion roof. Benedictine nuns lived there from 1650 until the Revolution.

The Cavaillé-Coll organ in Vimoutiers was created in 1898 and inaugurated in 1899. It is used for concerts organised throughout the year by the association Les Amis des Orgues.

The Vimoutiers mill has millstones that are still operational. The Moulin on the La Vie still has its original equipment and accessories. The Tiger tank is one of the last two recorded in France and one of the eight known worldwide.

The Camembert Museum explains the various stages in the production of Camembert de Normandie AOP using an archival film. It also offers tastings of this cheese and other cheeses from the Pays d’Auge.

Nature

The “Au Pays du Camembert” walking route passes through sunken lanes typical of the region and runs between Vimoutiers and the famous village of Camembert.
