Tinchebray-Bocage combines medieval architectural heritage, local industrial history and paths through the surrounding area. The Chapelle Saint-Rémy was fortified during the Hundred Years’ War; the walls of the transept arms were raised, loopholes were installed and machicolations were added. The chapel also has three wall paintings from the period of the Hundred Years’ War.

Culture and History
The Prison Royale dates from the 17th century and has been converted into a museum. During a visit, visitors can see the cells, the dungeon, the chapel and the former judicial rooms, including the judges’ council chamber and the courtroom, also known as the auditoire.
The Église Notre-Dame-des-Montiers dates from the late 15th century and has a square bell tower on its north side. The Chapelle Sainte-Marie was built in 1860 and has three rosettes in the tympana of its façade and transept.
Tinchebray’s ironworking heritage includes forges for nail production and charcoal production, documented for the 16th and 17th centuries. The medieval washhouse in Rue de Geôle is also part of the townscape. It was restored by decision of 1991 and now enhances access to the waterway.
By appointment, the Musée de Tinchebray offers a visit lasting approximately 45 minutes about the invention of beet sugar. Admission costs 2 euros for adults and is free for those under 18.
Landscape and Paths
The Val Fleury waterway is fed by the Noireau and offers a place to rest after exploring the streets and lanes of Tinchebray.
Mardi Rando is a tradition of the municipalities of the former Pays de Tinchebray. From May to August, visitors can discover or rediscover the most beautiful walking routes in the surrounding area every week. The walks are open to everyone, free of charge and do not require registration.

Château de Vire is a castle in the surroundings of Tinchebray. Église Sainte-Anne, a church, and Ancienne église Saint-Thomas, also a church, are likewise located in the surrounding area.
In the wider region surrounding Tinchebray are Abbaye des Blanches, a historic site, as well as Mont Pinçon and Mont d’Ancre, both classified as mountains. Mont Margantin is classified there as a hill.
