Sainte-Gauburge-Sainte-Colombe: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Following the merger of the two parishes in 1864, the present Sainte-Gauburge parish church was built in place of the former churches of Sainte-Colombe and Sainte-Gauburge. The foundation stone was laid in 1869, and the building was consecrated in 1875.

Culture

The Sainte-Gauburge parish church contains two Neo-Gothic side altars, two tabernacles and two reredos dedicated to the Sacred Heart and the Virgin Mary.

At the entrance to Sainte-Gauburge-Sainte-Colombe, a wayside Calvary stands beside the D926 departmental road when arriving from the direction of Paris.

The Le Vauferment manor house was built in the 16th century and remodelled in the 18th century; its lintel bears the date 1739. After 1871, it was converted into a barn and the upper floor was removed.

Things to do

The Centre Equestre de Sainte Gauburge offers horse-riding activities for nature-loving day-trippers, competition-oriented riders, children from baby-pony age onwards, and people with disabilities. The activities include one- to two-hour rides, treks, introductory and advanced training courses, as well as junior courses for children aged 7 to 14.

For 42 years, the Fête de la Terre has combined traditional activities such as ploughing, regional products and equestrian displays with newer entertainment including helicopter flights, concerts and a mountain-bike show.

The Sainte-Gauburge-Sainte-Colombe village festival takes place every third weekend in June.
