Saint-Cyr-La-Rosière: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Saint-Cyr-la-Rosière combines evidence from several centuries with the cultural heritage of the Perche and paths through the rural landscape. One of the area’s defining buildings is the Chapelle de Clémencé, a 14th-century chapel protected as a historic monument by decree of 14 November 1977. The history of the Benedictine priory Prieuré de Sainte-Gauburge began in 1006. The church, priory house, and convent building were classified as historic monuments by decree of 28 April 1980. The complex includes richly decorated chimneys, a stair tower, and rooms dating from the 13th century. Six panels explain the history of the site. The Prieuré de Sainte-Gauburge is located at 61130 Saint-Cyr-la-Rosière.
A stone statue bearing the name “Sainte Gauburge?” is located at the junction between the choir and the northern transept of the Église Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte. Another stone statue bearing the name “Sainte Gauburge?” dates from the 16th century and was entered on the register as a protected object in 1986.
The Écomusée du Perche collects, preserves, researches, and presents the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Perche to the public. One admission ticket provides access to both the Écomusée du Perche and the Prieuré de Sainte-Gauburge.
Nature
Saint-Cyr-la-Rosière is one of the 25 municipalities within the protected area of the Black Bee Conservatory. The La Pierre Procureuse hiking trail leads to a dolmen that, according to legend, was erected around 3000 BC.
La Croix de Lognonnet follows paths through the rural Perche landscape. The circular walking route of the same name begins at the renovated church in the centre of Saint-Cyr-la-Rosière.
