Marcei: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The historic buildings in Marcei include the Manoir de la Baronnie. It is a former priory and a former court of the Ancien Régime; it was built in the 11th century and remodelled in the 15th and 16th centuries. The façades and roofs of the Manoir de la Baronnie have been listed as a French historic monument since 23 March 1972. The exterior areas can be visited freely; a guided tour of the interior is possible on request.

Culture

The Église Saint-Ouen in Marcei is a Romanesque church with a strongly elongated rectangular floor plan measuring 34 m in length and 7.30 m in width. Its massive bell tower adjoins the nave on the north side and is probably considered the oldest part of the building. The church houses a statue of Saint Ouen, a polychrome stone sculpture from the 17th century. It has been listed as protected movable cultural heritage since 6 August 1985.

The historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Almenêches is located near Marcei. The historic site of Château des Ducs (Argentan) is also nearby. The wider regional area around Marcei also includes Château de Villiers, Château de Fontaine-les-Bassets, Parc Régional Normandie-Maine and the Butte Chaumont hill.
