The entire Église Saint-Cyr et Sainte-Julitte de Saint-Cyr-d'Estrancourt, including its sacristy, has been protected as a historic monument since 21 October 1998. The church dates from the first half of the 11th century and features a Louis XIV-style high altar and a painted wooden altarpiece.

Culture and History
The Eglise Saint-Gourgon was completed in 1813 and built of brick. In its entirety, it has been protected as a historic monument by a decree dated 16 February 2006. Its complete furnishings, including the flooring and all stained-glass windows, have been preserved.
The Pépinière de la Briqueterie is a place to visit in Avernes-Saint-Gourgon. The Fête de la Bourgelée is celebrated around mid-June and dates back to an old pagan festival that was later Christianised by the church. It includes a procession to a nearby field and a bonfire ceremony.
Nature
The Vallée du Bourgel is a wet valley typical of the Pays d'Auge, with wooded plateau edges. More than 250 plant species, including 18 orchid species, have been recorded in the Vallée du Bourgel.
The Bourgel is a particularly important spawning tributary for brown trout (Salmo trutta fario) throughout the upper Touques catchment.
Trails and Local Traditions
The circular hiking trail Circuit l'Eglise millénaire et la Croix au Chat is 25 kilometres long, starts at the town hall of Sap-en-Auge, and leads through the Vallée du Bourgel to the Saint-Cyr-d'Estrancourt church. The circular hiking trail also covers the cultural heritage of cider.
